Andiron Lethos

From BluWiki

(5 BFS - ) Andiron Lethos is the husband of Pallia Lethos and father of Oleron Lethos. Raised as a noble under House Regai alongside his brother, Zephiron Lethos, he began to feel out of place among his own people. He did not feel the affinity for sport and hunting that they did, instead turning his focus to the arcane. He developed a consuming curiosity about these differences, noticing that only some of the elves manifested the minor powers, like limited teleportation, that he had. Though the Regai contingent held academia in high regard, Andiron noticed that the vast majority of arcanologists were of the same breed as he.

In 71 FS, his suspicions were confirmed. Andiron was a high-level secretary under the Regai nobility, and he used his position to search the royal records for any information he could use to discover his true nature. In the earliest genealogies on record, some patriarchs were labeled "Eldar" or "Eladrin." Tracing their lineages, Andiron found that he, his brother, and his young son Oleron were descendants of one of these "Eldar." He shared this discovery only with his family and a few trusted friends for several years, until he and Zephiron co-founded the Eladrin Society in 125 FS. The group met in secret, and Andiron's fury smoldered. He was devastated by the knowledge that his supposed kin kept the truth of his heritage from him for so long. By the 130s FS, the Society had evolved into the Eladrin Liberation Front, and in 132 FS, Andiron dispatched Oleron on an investigative mission to the Fey Wilds to learn more of the truth.

In 134 FS, Altair fell and the Regai were all but annihilated. Those that remained fled to the Wilderness, seeking the succor of Lepida. Andiron and Zephiron led the Eladrin Liberation Front into Fenwood, where they constructed the floating city of Taraneen. Ruling together, Andiron took charge of martial matters while Zephiron oversaw diplomatic relations. The elder brother's passion was tempered by the younger brother's level head. In 136 FS, Oleron set foot in his father's city for the first time. Serving his people once again, he continued to embark on adventures with his colleagues, occasionally returning with tidings of the world.

In 138 FS, Oleron brought an exiled Eladrin named Taleris to the city, and Andiron knew true hope for the first time since his discovery. Eagerly he embarked with Oleron and Zephiron to a mysterious island to retrieve a magical gem purported to be the key to the eladrin's return to Faerie. Braving mysterious hazards, the family located the gem, and Oleron traveled to the Fey Wilds with his friends and Taleris.

Upon the return of his son, Andiron received disturbing tidings: the true Eladrin were spirits of the wind and the water and the plants. He and his kind were simply elves bearing a modicum of Eladrin blood, diluted through the generations. Taleris was the enemy of these true Eladrin, seeking to bring death to the Wilds as a means of balancing the rampant life that ruled there. Oleron had sided with Taleris. Andiron pledged his support, despite the defection of Zephiron. Dividing Taraneen, Andiron took charge of those loyal to him and awaited instructions from his new master.

In late 138 FS, those instructions arrived. Oleron returned to the Eladrin camp at Rivermeet and guided his people to Faerie. He then left to serve as Taleris' second-in-command, and Andiron continues to lead his peopole in their newfound home.
