This is an open wiki page for first-year students in the University of Chicago mathematics Ph.D. program. This page was created to facilitate communication among first-years relating to courses and problem sets. Anybody can edit this page using a web browser by clicking the "edit" link above. I suggest we use this page to collaborate on difficult problems in the homework. If everybody contributes some hints and partial solutions for problems they've solved, then others can refer to this page as necessary if they are stuck on a problem and would like a suggestion. Feel free to use either English or LaTeX source to contribute hints and solutions.
Please don't submit any copyrighted material here. Also, be aware that this page could be vandalised or removed because it is open to the public, but I don't expect any problems with this.
Editing this page is very easy and anyone can do it. For more specific details on editing, check out this good basic tutorial from Wikipedia.com. If you want to play around, you can try editing the sandbox.
Also, the BluWiki home page has some information about this host and links to other resources.

If anyone knows any good online (La)TeX references, maybe you could include them here for those who would like to learn it.
