These are the champions of the five Elemental Dragons and are also called the Dragon-Blooded. For the last millennium and a half, they were the unquestioned rulers of Creation itself. Despite being the weakest kind of the Exalted in terms of raw power, the Terrestrial Exalts are the most numerous by far. Once the soldiers of the Exalted armies that fought the Primordials, the Terrestrials murdered the Solar Exalted at the behest of the Sidereals and took over the reins of Creation.

Types of Terrestrial Exalted

While the Terrestrial Exalted are magically divided into five Aspects (see above) there are also two articial divisions established by the Scarlet Empress. These are the Scarlet Dynasty and the Outcaste.

Scarlet Dynasty

The Scarlet Dynasty is a group of eleven Great Houses that are interrelated among themselves and her. All Dynasts can claim blood descent from the Empress and typically hold more power individually than any five mortals can dream of.

Outcaste of the Realm

The Outcaste are those Terrestrial Exalted who were born among the common people of the Realm, born in the Threshold or born of slaves. Under the guidance of the Empress the Outcaste were sought out and offered places in the Realm's bureaucracy, the legions or as monks in the Immaculate Order.

Timing of Exaltation

Unlike the Cellestial Exalted, the Terrestrial Exalted tend to exalt at a specific time in their lives - during puberty. Generally this occurs between ten and sixteen years of age. Some truely late bloomers exalt as late as twenty years of age. It is known that no Terrestrial Exalt will Exalt at an age later than twenty-one years.
