Calendar Details
Use of the Imperial Calendar has spread thoughout Creation. It is a lunar calendar, with each month following the twenty-eight day lunar cycle beginning on the first crescent after the new moon (or in the case of the beginning of the year, the first crescent after Calibration). The days of the week follow the patern of the elements: Airday, Waterday, Earthday, Woodday, Fireday, Moonday and Sunday. Due to the precise timing of the lunar cycle the half moons, full moon and new moon fall on Moonday every week with the full moon coming at the end of the second week and the new moon coming at the end of the fourth week.
In addition to the fifteen months (and Calibration of course) the year is divided into a fifteen part elemental cycle where each element ascends, is then resplendent and then descends; this cycle follows the patern of the elements also so the year begins with Ascending Air and ends with Calibration after the end of Descending Fire.

Realm Years (of which the current year at the start of my game is 768) are counted from the ascendancy of the Scarlet Empress and are the standard across all of Creation.
