Four Legs in the Morning Will o' Wisp
Four Legs in the Morning is the 5th video in the Will o' Wisp series. It is the first video by Sean.
Transcript
(Rather peaceful music, a painting of angels and people.)
Overlay: It felt good to hear from you again. You are a comfort to me. Though your message is distressing on several different levels. Was that your intention?
(Picture of a man with several objects protruding from his body.)
Overlay: O' Martyrs!
(A hand nailed to wood.)
Overlay: Some leave us with a message of peace. And some leave a message of vengeance.
(Someone, man or woman, dead.)
Overlay: Is our Abel a martyr? What do you think his message would be?
(Photo of 3 people, dead.)
Overlay:How about them? Do you think they found 'the' answer? I couldn't save them as I'd hoped. But as we've been told, "Death is illusory when viewed from a higher perspective." Where would Gone be without his martyrs?
Dee's 'Seal' is out of my hands now...but on a personal level, he also found the memory card. Memory card...isn't that ironic? It's my only connection to ten years of living dreams. I'm embarrassed to admit that the card 'he found' means more to me than some dusty, old relic. Do you think that 'is' the reason Abel sent me? Did he want me to find it? How could he 'not' know what this would do to me?
(The Hanged Man card.)
Overlay: Who really pulls the strings here? And who decides when to cut them? Today, I cut my own strings and take my first 'real' step. I'll continue...but I'm doing this my way.
Notes
- There are seven words flanked by apostrophes. These words form a sentence: "the seal he found is not real."
- "Four Legs in the Morning" refers to the riddle of the sphinx: "What has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three at night?" The answer is: "A man." Sean seems to be telling us that he has spent the last part of his life on four legs: crawling. Now he is graduating to two: walking upright.
