[edit] History

[edit] Court Case and Friendship

In the third quarter of 2006, Aran Ho Yeow Yong attended a study camp that was organised by the school. During that night while in school, some of the campers were still awake even after the lights were off at around 23:30. Aran was sleeping beside Jason, a camper and his classmate. They then talked to each other since they could not get to sleep yet. During their conversation, Jason told Aran that a classmate of theirs was gang raped by a group of boys; most of them were his classmate. It is not sure whether this is true, but one of the rapers told Jason about the incident.

A few weeks later, from what Aran knew about the incident, he started to plan for a new book about the incident. According to the plan, the victim was raped by his friends when they were visiting the victim's house. Later at dinner time, the victim's parents noticed that there is something wrong with their son. The victim broke down and told what had happened when he was asked by his parents. The following day, the victim's parents made a police report about the incident and the rapers were arrested. Since the book is about a court case (hence its title), the victims, witnesses and the suspects had to go to court. The suspects were then found guilty of the crime.

Aran then started to write the book according to the plan. However, the project was cancelled after Aran just completed writing the dinner part.

In January 2007, Aran had an idea to write something about his previous year's classmates and the gang rape incident that happened in 2006 to one of this classmates. With this, he then started to write a plan for the next upcoming book, which he did not think of the title yet. He then put Friendship as a working title for the plan he is currently writing. The plan was then completed on March 2007. In the original plan, there was another raping incident after the first raping incident and before the study camp. There was also a second visit to the boys' home.

After the plan was completed, Aran then decided that there should be a sequel to the project as he wanted to write something about his current classmates.

Aran then started writing for the story, but after completing the first classroom scene, the project was then inactive for several months. The project was then resumed in May and the story was completed on the same month. Friendship was then chosen as the title and the book was released on 11 May, 2007.

[edit] Sequels

In March 2007, there are mutiples ideas for the upcoming book, Friendship 2. A list of up to 10 ideas were then created at first. Out of these ideas, a couple of them were then chosen to be included in the storyboard plan for Friendship 2. Some of the ideas not included in the storyboard plan for Friendship 2 includes a teacher being raped and Asher commiting suicide.

After the storyboard plan were completed by April, the project nearly got scrapped as there were too little "exciting" scenes. Aran then decided to re-write the plan as there were more ideas added to the list of ideas. The plans was then re-written on June. However, Aran did not start to write the story until July. The book was then completed on 15 August, 2007 and was released two days later.

After the ending of Friendship 2, the readers were left with a few questions; leading to a couple of cliffhangers. With these cliffhangers, the readers expect at least a sequel. It was then anounced that there will be two sequels: Friendship: The Beginning and Friendship 3. Friendship: The Begining is planned to be released next, followed by Friendship 3. However, as on 3 October 2007, Friendship: The Beginning is cancelled and the storyline for Friendship 2 has a minor change. Friendhsip 3 is still under planning.

After Yacob and Reuben read Friendhsip and Friendhsip 2, they gave Aran some ideas for a story about their class. Aran then decided at first to create a new story of a working name of Project Betrayal. A few days later, Aran decided to merge Project Betrayal into the Friendship series, thus created Friendship 4. Aran later decided to merge both Friendship 4 into Friendship 3. The book was then completed on 13 October, 2007 and was released two days later.

Immediately after Friendship 3 is released, Aran started to work on Friendship: The Complete Collection. On the 16 October 2007, two days after Friendship 3 is released, Friendship: The Complete Collection is completed. Aran actually have no plans to released the story on the internet. On 9 November 2007, Aran planned to post the story for Friendship: The Complete Collection on another website and wanted to link that website to his article on Bluwiki. Little did he know that the website was actually spammed by Bluwiki, so Aran have no choice but to post it here.

In the story, the events were rearranged according to the event timeline. For example, in Friendship 2, it was only revealed that Asher and Brad were brothers, but in this story, that event was placed at the start of the story. The storyline has changed too. Originally, David, Keneth, Gideon and Melvin was released from the boys' home on December 2006, but in this story, they were not released until December 2008. Also, due to new characters and events in Friendship 3, new speeches were included in the story such as the part where some of the characters are talking about Keithon back-stabbing everyone. In addition, most of the flashbacks were edited out.

[edit] The next project

The next "Titanic Book" Collection project, originally named Project Romance, was originally not supposed to be part of the Friendship series. Since Aran decided to tell the readers the real reason why James was dead, he decided to include this project in the series. This story will also tell the story about James' family. The full list of characters for James' family have been comfirmed already. On 4 December 2006, Aran decided to include Brad's and Asher's family in the story.

On July 7 2008, Aran had release the Friendship Series Short Stories and also marking the first time that the story was not written in script form.

As on 20 October 2009, Friendship 4 has been on hold.
