Independence Day 2 (also known as its abbreviation ID4 2) is a fictional novel written by Aran Ho Yeow Yong. The novel's main plot is about an second attempted alien takeover of Earth. The story, however, is focused on Singapore only (with a little part from USA).

The world is in shock on August 8 as an alien mothership, 2 kilometers in diameter, enters orbit around the Earth. The mothership deploys several dozen smaller ships (called destroyer spaceship), each itself with a diameter of over 2 kilometres, that then hover over many of the world's major cities. In the Singapore, the ships appear over Raffles Place, Newton and Changi before the first destruction; Tuas, Holland Village, Sentosa, Woodlands and Kovan between the first and second destruction; and Jurong Island, Yishun, Jurong West, Geylang and Pulau Sudong betwenn the second and final destruction.

Before the first destruction, the President of Singapore ordered every Singaporeans to evacuate to a safer place. Every school in Singapore ans every NSmen evacuate to either Malaysia, Pulau Tekong or Pulau Sudong. It is unknown where the other surviving Singaporeans evacuate to.

Using advanced directed-energy weapons, the aliens destroy these locales and other cities around the world, along with millions of people, and annihilate virtually every famous landmark in the world. The President of Singapore, leads the human resistance from Pulau Sudong to ultimate victory over the invading aliens.

The movie climaxes on August 9, as the US Air Force managed to disabled the aliens' shields, and sneak a nuclear weapon aboard. The disruption of the shields opens a window of opportunity for humans to strike back and destroy the smaller alien ships and fighter craft.

During the counterattack, all the Singaporean fighter planes have shot their missiles when the primary weapon destroyer spaceship prepares to fire its primary weapon. Only one of the fighter planes have two missiles left. One of them hit the beam's door while the other missile is jammed. The pilot of that fighter plane realizes what he must do. He pilots his fighter plane into an alien ship's primary weapon as it is about to fire, causing a chain reaction that destroys the ship. Task forces around the world use the same weak point to destroy the rest of the alien ships while the nuclear missile detonates and destroys the alien mother ship, ultimately saving Earth, again.
