     In volleyball, there are two teams. Each team has six players on the court at a time. The object of the game is to hit the volleyball back and forth over the net, trying to prevent it going out on your hit or becoming dead on your side. You also want the opposing team to miss the ball. A perfect play in volleyball is usually three hits: Bump, Set, and Spike. 

     Each player must wear a set of knee pads for protection. The ball must be spherical. It measures at least twenty five inches and at most twenty seven inches in circumference, with five to seven pounds of air pressure. A volleyball team consists of six positions, which are: center forward, left forward, and right forward at the net, while the center back, right back, and left back are behind the front players. The area for serving should be a minimum of six feet deep and thirty feet wide. All seats, scoring stands, supports, and other objects should be at least three feet outside of the court completely. 

The team who wins the coin toss in the beginning gets to choose wither which side they want or who serves first. They may choose one of these decisions, but not both. The player who is positioned in the right back is the server. A full rotation is made clockwise. The right front player will rotate to the serving area next. The server cannot go over the line until the ball is contacted. However, the player�s body may go over in the air, just not on the ground. There are three general types of serves, which are overhand, underhand, and jump serves. Volleyball is more of a leisure sport than an athletic one, though you can get a workout from running around the court.
