LCD panel oddity
From BluWiki
While adjusting a loaner LCD I got while my other LCD is being fixed, I noticed that the top row of pixels didn't appear as bright as the others. I figured it was just part of the 3D menu bar look, but later when looking with a magnifier found that it was not as tall as the others. This is for a 2009-model HP display with an LG LCD panel.
I examined my 2002-model iMac with a built-in LCD and it is the same way.
Also on the HP, the red sub-pixels of the leftmost column are slightly narrower, causing the left edge to look slightly soft (I couldn't get a picture that clearly shows this, though). The same goes for the blue sub-pixels on the rightmost column.
