Location
Liverpool is a coffee station located in Las Monjas #402 y calle 4ta in Urdesa. Urdesa is a district in Guayaquil. It�s is a nice, casual, cheap, not formal place to go and have some fun. The Aspiazo family is very happy with the kind of acceptance they have been having since they opened. They even want to expand their business and open another Liverpool in Samborondon, a city near Guayaquil.
Environment
The place has a very charming and cozy ambiance. Mr. Aspiazo gave every single thing of the Beatles that he had to decorate it. There are Beatles� posters, movies, discs and action figures all over the place. When you go inside Liverpool you immediately start to hear John Lennon�s and Paul McCartney�s beautiful voices. They have tables for two, four, six and a big round table for ten people so everyone can go and enjoy their place.
Clientele
Most of the people that go to Liverpool are over 20 years old, and a lot of them are foreigners, especially foreigners who speak English. A waiter told me that one of the most important experiences that he had, was that "Hombres G" came to Liverpool. Hombres G are a famous band from Spain, known all over the world because of their good songs.
A lot of Beatle�s fans go to the place because they feel that they are back in the 60�s, when they were young.
Menu
The menu is very interesting because it is like the underground station map in England. Every page is another station: Piqueos Station, Meals Road Station, Piccadilly Crepes Station, St. Sandwich Station, Dessert Square Station and Teas, Coffee and Beverages Station. They sell national and international food. The chef�s specialties are the Crepes.
The most sold dishes are: Filet Mignon, Great Duchess Chicken, BBQ Ribs, Fettuccine Alfredo, Sea food, potato, lettuce, avocado and the house dressing salad, Spicy Chicken Crepe, Corn, Cheese and Ham Crepe, Shrimps Crepe, Crab Crepe, Avocado, mushrooms, peppers and palmito sandwich, Meat, tomatoes, lettuce baguette, Cheese, tomatoes, pepperoni and ham baguette and Spinach, bacon and cheese Crepe.
The desserts are full of flavor and exquisite. The most sold desserts are: Strawberry Fields, Tiramisu, Crepes with ice cream and chocolate syrup, Apple and nuts muffin with ice cream and Fried ice cream. Strawberry Fields, which is named after one Beatles song, consists of crunchy biscuits with strawberry syrup and whipped cream. The Crepes are also named after some English cities like: Crepes Cambridge, Crepes Windsor, Crepes Liverpool, Crepes Oxford, Crepes London and Crepes Manchester. A plate doesn�t cost you more than ten dollars, so it�s really affordable for a lot of people.
Mr. Aspiazo�s favorite dish is the Filet Mignon with Fettuccine Alfredo, a combined plate that they usually don�t sell.
They sell wine bottles, beers, alcoholic drinks like: Whiskey, Vodka, Amaretto and Bailey�s. They sell cocktails too like: Margaritas, Daiquiris, Bloody Maries, Orgasms, B52�s, Satan�s, Cuba Libres and Pinas Coladas.
Special Events
Every day there�s a music show, except Mondays and Sundays, so if you want to hear good live music, this definitely is the place for you. On Tuesdays Roy Carlos, a saxophonist plays. On Wednesdays they have live salsa music. On Thursdays are Beatles� night, a band covers Beatles� songs. On Fridays bands come to play 60�s, 70�s, 80�s and even 90�s songs and on Saturdays a singer comes and sings romantic ballads. Most of the people come during show times. At first they started only with two shows, the Thursday�s and Friday�s shows, but after there were a lot of people coming on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they decided to invite more musicians to make the people feel comfortable and happy, like at home.
Hours
Liverpool is opened from 12:00 am to 1:00 or 2:00 pm, every single day of the week except Mondays. They don�t close at 4:00 or 5:00 pm like other restaurants do.
History
Everything started when the wife and daughters of Mr. Aspiazo had this idea of opening a coffee station, that�s where the name came from �Liverpool, coffee station�, but is not only a coffee station, it�s a restaurant and a bar. At first Mr. Aspiazo thought that it was a bad idea, but after thinking about it he realized that Liverpool is the cradle of the Beatles, a group that he admires since he was young. The Beatles is a rock and roll band that appeared in 1957 and they not only changed rock and roll, but also the face of all music forever. The Beatles� legacy will never be forgotten. It�s is a nice place, casual, cheap, not formal place to go and have some fun.
Mr. Aspiazo approved his family proposal but with only one condition, that the main topic of the restaurant must be the Beatles, since many people are Beatles buffs. Since one of his daughters is a chef and the other one is a graphic designer, they had it all planed. The chef decided what food were they going to sell, and the graphic designer created the menu and decorated the place. The family business started four years ago.
Additional Info
Mr. Aspiazo�s most important memory is that no thief has come in the place and that around Liverpool there are like five more restaurants and that they all got robbed at least one time.
