Lost Ground (AU)

Lost Ground was (and is) an RP based on the anime and manga series s-CRY-ed, taken into EC's continuity. Initially a distraction to cope with the main RP being locked during the Angel War plot, it blossomed into an RP in its own right during its month-long first season. It was the first true Alternate Universe RP to take hold in EC and set the format for following long-run AUs such as Magenta and the first version of the FAU. Its storyline was an action-driven plot with plenty of comedy but also its dose of seriousness and mystery, centering around the conflict between the Alter Users of HOLY and the Native Alters of the Lost Ground.

Introduction

The Lost Ground. A place of poverty and lawlessness outside the wall. A generation ago, a cataclysm occured here, a massive earthquake that destroyed the region. Something about this cataclysm gifted certain people in the Lost Ground with varying degrees of psychic power, varying from the mildest empathy to powerful manifestations of their minds, called Alters. People with the ability to manifest an Alter are called Alter Users and are considered very dangerous. The government, upon building the wall to protect the city and reinforce the gap in living conditions, also sought to gain and keep tight control on these "dangerous abberations," creating HOLD and its Alter-using, Alter hunter division HOLY. Despite the control they try to maintain, there are always some that slip through the cracks...
