Course Description

One of the MEL 101 texts.

This is course is a variation of SCI 206 ("The Physics of How Things Work"), and is entitled "How Mel Works". The objective of the course is to understand and learn how to manage some of the unique quirks of Dyng. Through class discussion and practicums, the following questions will be answered:

  • Why does Dyng pronounce simple words incorrectly?
  • Why does Dyng seek help for tasks she can easily perform herself?
  • Why doesn't Dyng appreciate great TV shows such as 24 or Prison Break?
  • How is it possible that non-existent or non-significant stressors can affect Dyng so greatly?
  • Why is Dyng frequently confused?
  • Why do Dyng's friends have strange names such as "Senga"?
  • Why is Dyng occasionally referred to as "newbie" or "nubile one"?
  • You will also be learning how to be cool like Dyng!
  • Why do the following "troubles" cause Dyng to think that she should switch out of her program?
    • It is snowing outside.
    • The fact that the sky is blue.
    • Her shoes have a hole in them.
    • She receive 80% on a quiz worth 1%.
    • She is unable to master a course on the first day.
    • She actually has to do some work and read things more than once in order to understand them.
  • Is there a problem?

Tips

  • If you can learn to ignore most of Dyng's complaints, you will extend your life by 10 years at a minimum. Also, you will free up 2 hours each day!
