Bluwiki has help files here.

Bluwiki uses Mediawiki, which is the software created by the Wikipedia foundation for Wikipedia. As a result, any information you can find about editing Wikipedia, or one of its sister projects, will very likely be useful here.

Wikipedia has some help files about editing pages, saving pages, and creating new pages on its [Wikipedia page].

Note: Simple things that you might desire to do, such as creating giant red text in a crazy font, despite being easy to do, are often omitted from Wikipedia's general help files, possibly to prevent new users doing silly things to their encyclopaedia. If you cannot find what you are looking for, do ask!

Message Boxes

There is a template for sticking some text in a message box. Simply use {{MoHmsg| Your message. }}

Undoing Mistakes

If you need to undo some edits that you have already saved, or that have been made by another user, then you can visit the history and revert the changes. Reverts themselves can also be reverted, and everything is stored in the file's history, so never be worried about adding to, or removing things from the wiki; it can all be done, undone, redone, undone...

Deleting Pages

Only the site administrators (e.g. Nathan) can delete pages we create. A common reason to wish to delete a page is because it was misnamed, or the name needs to be changed. In order to get a page deleted, simply add {{pd}}, which will flag the page for deletion and add a message to the page.

Alternatively, {{delete|your reason here}}. The benefit of this second method is that the administrator does not need to guess why the page needs to be deleted, check its history to see what it contained before you blanked it, etc.

New Pages

It would be helpful if you could put [[Category:Mandate of Heaven]] at the bottom of any new pages you make.

All of our pages are lumped in with everyone else's, so the only way we can easily export pages from this wiki is by choosing to export all pages that are in a category.

Signatures

You can change the signature that you leave with ~~~~ in My preferences, under Personal tools, in the blue box at the bottom of this page.

A simple signature, which just requires you to substitute the three instances of Name with your user name, with handy links for others is:

Which creates:

Sterling Work

If you notice that someone has performed some sterling work, why not visit their user page, and give them a Mandate of Heaven barnstar. To add it, just type {{Mandate of Heaven Barnstar| Your message. }}.
