Cubing Links

Format of links:
Link#: circumstances where the link should be skipped
   Title of Link
   URL of Link
My description of the site and what each site contains

Link1: skip if you don’t care about cubing rules, regulations, or world records

World Cube Association | Association for Rubik and twisty puzzle competitions
http://www.worldcubeassociatio...
Before you go on your quest to cube, it is important to understand what you are up against. This website houses the official world records of twisty puzzles and rules/regulations of competitions.

Link2: skip if you already own a Rubik’s Cube

secure.rubiks.com
https://secure.rubiks.com/lvl3/index_lvl3.cfm?lan=...
Wondering where to buy a speedcube? This is your best bet for quality and price. However, if you don’t plan on cubing in under a minute, just go with a normal Rubik’s Cube from Walgreens.

Link3: skip if you can already solve a Rubik’s Cube with a basic (7-ish algorithm) method

www.its.caltech.edu
http://www.its.caltech.edu/~leyanlo/cube_solution....
My recommendation for beginners wanting to learn the very basics of solving the Rubik's Cube.

Link4: Skip if you use another timing device/don’t care about timing

phpPuzzleTimer - Login
http://timer.tj9991.com/
Use this website to time your solves. (If you want an offline timer, you can download it here.)

Link5: NEVER SKIP!!!

Dans Cube Station
http://www.cubestation.co.uk/
the single best site for algorithms when used in conjunction with Erik's Cube Site (for finger tricks, go to Link9)

Link6: Skip if you don’t want to waste time comparing algorithms

Erik's Cube Site
http://erikku.er.funpic.org/rubik/
This is the website of one of the top 10 cubers in the world. This site has the best OLL and PLL algorithms

Link7: NEVER SKIP!!!

Rubik's Cube Theory
http://www.ws.binghamton.edu/fridrich/cube.html
This is the site of Jessica Fridrich, creator of the Fridrich (CFOP) method for solving the cube. It has great links to other sites and I highly recommend reading her advice on how to solve the cube as fast as possible.

Link8: Skip if you like Fridrich method and dislike change

How To Solve A Rubik's Cube - Speed Solving
http://www.rubikssolver.com/Rubiks_Cube_Speed_Solv...
Don't like memorizing algorithms? Don't fret! This sight describes a logic-based solving method that is an alternative to the Fridrich method. It is a little complicated though.

Link9: skip if you don’t want to learn finger tricks

Lars Vandenbergh's CubeZone
http://www.cubezone.be/
This site has much more advanced algorithms and describes how to do the ZB method, not recommended until you are solving the cube in under 25 seconds.
However, this site is the best place for most of the fridrich method algorithm finger tricks because it shows exactly how to execute them. Compare and decide for your self against Erik’s and Dan’s Sites if you want.

Link10: skip if you don’t want to waste time comparing algorithms and advice

Cubefreak - Rubik's Cube, Speedcubing, Blindfold Cubing...
http://www.cubefreak.net/speedcubing.html
Yet another speedcuber's website. This site covers almost all your cubing knowledge needs, I just haven't really made sure that it has a good set of Fridrich algorithms so use another site for those (like Dan's or Erik's sites).

Link11: skip if you aren’t bored

You know you've been cubing too long when...
http://cube.garron.us/misc/too_long.htm
so true, i relate to like over 3/4 of these
