[edit] Childhood

Advocate Ramchandra Karkare(II) was born in 1909 on 9th Jan. in a small village named kolaras near shivpuri M.P. He was the first son of Moreshwar ramchandra Karkare.
In his very childhood his elder sister passed away. Later on next daughter of Moreshwar Karkare died at that time the age of Ramchandra was only four .
He asked his Mother what happened to the sister and there was only one reply that she is no more In 1914 his mother left the world and in 1916 Moreshwar Karkare married another woman.
And on that day when his mother died he took the soil in his small hands and said "My mother is in this soil now this soil <maati> is only my mother.", he was only a child aged 5 years. Ramchandra Karkare was forcefully sent to his paternal uncle to study who was in shivpuri. After a year Ramchandra was kept in his Maternal uncle's home in a village 11miles away from Ujjain.M.P. Later on after a bad incident there ,Ramchandra left hiis Uncle's home and came to his father's home.

Around 1921 when he was in school he came across the situation of india. He joined the freedom struggle in the same year. Ramchandra Karkare was a very talented boy and gradually this news spread all over.
He studided under the street light because his father was a poor man and there was no money for oil to be put in the lamp. He had a very good general knowledge and used to read all the great books like Ramayan,Mahabharat,BhagwatGeeta,Vidur nity,Chanakya-niti, Upnishads, books by Marks and Lenin, Historical books of -Maharana Pratap, Rani laxmibai, Tatya tope, Shivaji, Prithviraj Chauhan and about Peshwas, Maharaja Dhiraj Shinde of Hindustan, etc,. He had a very vast intrest in the field of medicine and evolution. (Later on various books of Charles Darwin were there in his library).
In the year 1924 he was awarded the membership of "Red Cross Organization's" - [{Ambulance Department}]
In 1925 Ramchandra M.Karkare was awarded as Hindi Visharad by Prayag Association Dedicated to Hindi Language.
In 1927 He was given the title of Hindi Sahitya Visharad by Prayag Hindi Samiti.
Year 1928 a secret meeting was attended by him in which the guest was non other than [Chandra Shekhar AZAD]
1929-
Making of Bombs using explosive chemicals , under strict vigilance of other senior Freedom Fighters.
1930-
A leading student of Agra University.
1931-
Awarded "SAHITYA RATNA " title ,completed the Law.
1932-
was debutant in the field of Advocacy.
1933-
Went to Pushkar for first time to attend congress confrence.
1934- took active part in freedom struggle ,British police took him to Jail.
1935-
Advocate Ramchandra M.Karkare went to Calcutta to join and attend the " VANDE MATRAM " -Adhivation ,sung his own poem " JANANI"
In the year 1929 he paseed his studies with great qualifications, he was a record holder of having four consequtive gold medals for his studies. Later on in the final year of L.L.B. he scored 98% all round in the Victoria College Gwalior which is still a record after 76 years also.
[edit] Freedom fighter
He was great admirer of netaji Subhash chandra bose, Prof. Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar and Chandra Ahekhar Azad. In the year 1927 he had a meeting with Chandra Shekar Azad in Janakganj Gwalior M.P. After 12 years of this event Ramchandra Karkare ownered Veer Savarkar publically in Gwalior. Ramchandra Karkare (II) advocate was the person who was a great artist in various fields like drawing, hindustani classical music, direction of a theaterical play etc. He was equally good in Sanskrit, Urdu, Farsi, Marathi, Bengali and Hindi along with a superb command over his English.
In 1941 he was arrested by British govt. for taking active part in freedom struggle. After being released from jail of Sabalgarh M.P., he again took part in freedom struggle and in 1942 he burned foreign cloths publically in Gwalior. He was again put in jail, this time in shivpuri M.P.

He was the greatest advocate ever produced in central india. He was a elected member of upper house <raj sabha> of Gwalior Riyasat in pre independence period.
He was advocate of "Srimant George Jiwaji Rao Scindia" ,"Baisahiba KAMALARAJE Scindia ", and later on <after independance > advocate of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia.

Ramchandra Karkare was the official advocate of Shrimant Sir George Jiwaji Rao Scindia and after Maharaja's death he was advocate of baisarkar Shrimant Vijyaraje scindia.
He refused to become a cheif minister of madhya bharat in 1947.
Ramchandra Karkare who was one of the core member of the daily news paper -navprabhat-. Ramchandra karkare was very popular and famous advocate/high court pleader of India at his time i.e. from pre independence to 1967.
He was one of the dean faculty of the Vikram Vishwa Vidyalay during 1944-50.
Adv. Ramchandra Karkare was the congress president of Madhya bharat and during the state time he was elected in the upper house of Gwalior riyasat. He was one of the closest person of H.H.shrimant Jiwaji rao Scindia<shinde>
Adv. Ramchandra Karkare was the person who welcomed great freedom fighters in gwalior during pre independence time and was a strict follower of Netaji Subhash chandra Bose

Ramchandra Karkare used to write a play on various subjects ,then he used to direct the drama himself . With all other great artists one role was taken every year by himself.

Advocate Ramchandra M Karkare was one of the finest writer of the post independent era. He had given precious knowledge about the freedom struggle through the real incidents written by him in a very sofesticated manner.
He had also written in English and Marathi other than in Hindi languages. Many books written by him were published from gwalior press in the period of 1947-1958.

He was the poet of Patriotic Nature. In his last days he had written many spiritual poems .

Ramchandra Karkare lived a very royal life in his second half. Such a great person left the world on 24th-Feb-1969 leaving behind his wife smt. Indira bai Karkare and his three daughters

{1}once upon a time in 1928 the subedar of gwalior<collector-administration> mr. vasudev nigudkar was watching a case in high court .a very young advocate was handelling the case of diwani mr. vasudev nigudkar was very much impressed to see that a young advocate won the case beating a very experienced advocate of the city . the fluency and proceedings of young advocate were of high quality . mr. v. nigudkar <vn> came home and told everybody that i am going to give my daughter indira to a great advocate and at that time two sons of vasudev ji were watching the moment mr. ramkrishna and mr. damodar as the news spread out some persons who were thinking to have indira as there daughter in law asked to vasudev ji that it will be very injustice for indira to be a wife of poor man., because one girl you have give to mr. chandorkar who is jamindar of thirteen vilages he, dont know how much is his wealth and the another girl is supposed to be given to such a person who donot know what wealth means. vasudev replied..... gentelmen; today the ramchandra is poor person but i am looking two -three years later situation one time will come when he will earn more wealth then terahgaon ke zamindar is having . because i have seen great talent in this young ramchandra karkare
that thing come true later on when in 1930 karkare vaqil took a car named citron /sitron later on he took another car named waxol in 1936 . he sold the citron car in 1937 and after this he took the famous car hudson in 1945 the hudson car remained his favourate car as well as of baisahiba srimant vijayaraje scindia in 1967 karkare vaqil sold the hudson he was having a royal bagghi also .
{2}In the year 1945 when he was a member of Raj sabhaof Gwalior riyasat
he was going to his college as he was a proffesor of law and head of the department.
when he was travelling from gasht ka tazia <place in gwalior> he saw the british police was charging ladhies on the young freedom fighters <students of the same college> . Advocate "sahitya ratna" Sri Ramchandra Karkare stopped the car and went directly to the students group and covered one student on whome the british police were fireing ladhies.
when the police officer saw that the person covering the freedom fighter was nobody but himself "member of Rajsabha" <advocate>Ramchandra ji he ordered to stop the event at the moment itself.
This shows how great was Ramchandra Karkare.
