Relena

(93 FS - ) The daughter of lesser nobles in the Oberians' employ, Relena was a privileged child. She was well-educated even from a young age and took a particular liking to the ways of wizardry. Eager and intelligent, she quickly blossomed into an adept spellcaster and served as a court wizard for the Oberian consulate in Altair. When she was not performing her duties, her thirst for adventure led her to join Sir Gareth Ebonheart, Sir Valentine, and Ezekiel in their traveling band of adventurers. She became particularly close with Sir Valentine, though he was more than ten years her junior, and it is speculated that romantic involvement may have sprung from their friendship, though this remains unconfirmed.

Seeking vengence for her slain alleged lover, Relena set off with Gareth, Ezekiel, Soirse, and Malcolm to fight Ghaleon and stop him from harnessing a mysterious power source buried in an ancient city. The sortie was successful and Ghaleon was slain, though Zeke fell in the process.

She fought in the Battle of Altair and used her magic to help countless citizens escape when the walls were breached. Surviving the battle, she became an integral member of the Resistance. This affiliation was not to last however, as she left the group in grief after Sir Valentine was killed in a duel with Ghaleon Ebonheart. Relena traveled south like many refugees before her who chose to strike out their own path over subjugation in Altair or overcrowding in Darvin. She was one of the founding members of the Haven settlement in the former County Regai, where she remained as a magical tutor and pillar of the community until its destruction in 136 FS. Her students included Oleron Lethos and Aldaren Sterenfeuer.

After the fall of Haven, Relena rejoined the Resistance, where she served as a leading wizard until Altair was reclaimed. She founded a magic academy there which has thrived in the new city. After Kerrick retreated into seclusion, Relena was tapped to replace him on the Council of Altair.
