Help Still Needed!

There are several critical roles that have not been filled, or at least the wiki doesn't yet know who's doing it. Even if you have not camped with Oobleck taking care any of these would be a great way to get involved. We need people lined up to take responsibility for:

Staging and Construction Space

Kitchen

• Scullery Maid: Macri

My thought was that people would volunteer in pairs and that all the cooking and cleaning would be more fun that way.

• Cooks are responsible for planning and cooking a communal meal (dinner-ish) on the day they sign up for. They will come up with a menu and an ingredient list and submit it to Nick (or post it on the wiki, we'll see). Once we have a more solid sense of how many mouths we have to feed we'll scale the recipes up or down. The Kitchen will arrange for all ingredients to be purchased and brought to the playa Volunteer Here!

Shade Structures

• Architectural Consultant: ???
  • This year our camp will not look like Max Gasner's bedroom.
  • Assess people's needs for playa construction expertise and help them get it together

Shower

• Materials Needed:Wood, black tarp (for the resulting grey water), some sort of curtain structure
• We Have:Nothing now, but will get everything in Reno at various big box stores
• Point Person(s) In Charge:Zach S, Zack G, & Jake S
• Date of construction:We arrive on Monday so, construction is planned for Monday or Tuesday
• Other Notes:We will construct the shower, but you should bring your own water and shower bag if you plan on using it

Mobile Flashing Neon Meeting Point Sign

• Materials Needed:Neon Wire (and everything else that it entails), PVC pipe, Pole (like the one that you would use to change a lightbulb), cylyndrical object to wrap the wire around
• We Have:Everything (or will by the time we get there)
• Point Person(s) In Charge:Zach S, Zack G, & Jake S
• Date of arrival/construction:We arrive on Monday and the mobile meeting point will be constructed in advance
• Puspose:Facilitates going out in groups (at night) by providing a clearly visible meeting point

Power

  • Procure and fuel a generator.
  • Assess the energy needs of all projects and wire it up

Other

First Aid

• Medic: Erin (I was re-certified in CPR in 2004, which makes me technically not current 'cause I think you have to do it every 2 years, but I do possess a 25-person first aid kit which I will pad out with desert-appropriate stuff.)
  • Stock a banging first-aid kit for communal use, bring it, paint it bright red and put it somewhere central in the camp

Village Layout

• Urban Planner: Chris Chitty
  • Chris will all around and get a sense of everyone's space needs and what kind of structures are people going to build, how many cars, etc and will design a village layout that is inviting and open.

• If building blanket-forts is your thing consider Nominating yourself as our Architectural Consultant

Fashion

• Fashion Consultant: Marcy Santana
  • Keep everyone looking good.
  • Post resources to Fashion.
  • Scour the thrift shops.
  • Assess the fashion needs of individual projects. For instance: Camp Dixie is looking for cheap sun bonnets for the southern belles.
  • Put together a communal closet.

Chores

• Cruel Task-Master: Mary
  • Exploits unpaid labor.
  • Assigns day-to-day camp chores: moop duty, dishwashing, cooking, etc. Uses Chores to make a schedule/sign-up list. Cracks the whip.
  • Makes sure Roles are being filled and everyone is on the same page about their responsibilities.

Events

  • Program a week of public events at Oobleck, solicit ideas, make a schedule, draft a stimulating write-up for each, submit all material to audrey to go out with our registration paperwork

  • The Huster is our accountant/dues collector. He tracks legitimate shared expenses. Files receipts. Keeps the books. Collects. Breaks knees if he must. Uses Budget and Dues to share information.
