This is presumably where we can post thoughts which are completely off topic
Can someone setup a proper forum maybe? I think a wiki is maybe a good place for presenting the information which goes in to a discussion and the policies that emerge, but a forum is a much more natural setting for sharing of thoughts.
Kevin, you fail to mention the concept of stochastic variables, i.e. not all numbers have a definite single value but are better represented by a range of probable values. For instance if you wanted to project energy demand in ten years you would need to estimate global population and per capita energy consumption. Both numbers are likely to lie within a certain range.

I really like the global democratic experiment site. I think maybe we should approach the people behind this once we've got the modified wiki up and running and then simply plug the two together. How does that sound to people?
On a technical note, does anyone have any ideas about how to make these changes to the wiki software?
