Here is the story for the TBC Collection's The Amazing Race Singapore 5: Racers Revealed.

Phil: In this pilot episode of season five and probably the final season of The Amazing Race Singapore, you will find out who are the twelve teams of two that will be racing around Singapore and overseas. These teams have been specially chosen by the producers amongst thousands of teams who wish to take part in the race as these chosen teams have proven to us why we should let them race. Without further ado, let me introduce to you the teams racing in this race.

Team 1: Aiken & Rosalyn

Phil (voice over [VO]): The 11 teams are� Aiken, 22, and Rosalyn, 19, - currently dating secondary school teachers.

Aiken (interview [IV]): Hi. I�m Aiken.

Rosalyn (IV): And this is Rosalyn.

Aiken (IV): And we are currently dating each other.

Rosalyn (IV): We both first met each other along Orchard Road. We both then chatted for a while and by then, we both starts to feel a romantic relationship between both of us.

Aiken (IV): We later then found out that we are both teachers and teach in the same school. This caused our romance relationship to deepen.

Rosalyn (IV): Since we are both teachers, we not only learn English and Chinese but also understand other languages such as Thai, Japanese, French, and much, much more.

Aiken (IV): So in this race, in terms of language alone, I do not think that there will be any difficulties in communicating with other languages.

Rosalyn (IV): Oh ya, one more thing. Aiken is actually very harsh towards children. I don�t know how he will cope in this race, considering that a majority of the contestants are between 14 to 18 years old.

Aiken (IV): That, I will have to try and control by habit. Hope I don�t cause my team to be the �number one� enemy.

Team 2: Aran & Reuben

Phil (VO): Aran, 14, and Reuben, 14, - friends since Secondary Two.

Aran (IV): Hi guys. I�m Aran.

Reuben (IV): And I�m Reuben.

Aran (IV): And we are both friends.

Reuben (IV): This is not the first time Aran has been racing in The Amazing Race Singapore.

Aran (IV): Of course. This is my fifth time. Don�t ask me why, the producers refuse to tell me the reason. Perhaps I�m the best racer? I don�t know.

Reuben (IV): In the past seasons, whoever partners with Aran will, most of the time, be in first position.

Aran (IV): Yup. And it�s because I study the map of Singapore. On certain days of the week, I may just look through the street directory of Singapore, pinpointing out the major roads and landmarks of Singapore. Eventually, I even can remember which road will intersect to which road.

Reuben (IV): By the way, both of us are half Thai, half Chinese.

Aran (IV): Ya. But I can understand Thai much better than him.

Reuben (IV): In fact, I don�t even understand Thai at all.

(Sound of Chinese gong being hit)

Aran (IV): Ever since we both have been selected to race in this race, we�ve been very excited; we can�t wait for the race to start.

Reuben (IV): Ya. It�s like you�re under influence by drugs.

Aran (IV): To him, that�s what he thinks because he always gets very hyperactive when he�s very excited or furious. Sometimes he will always have spasm.

Reuben then got spasms.

Aran (IV): Speaking of the devil.

Reuben then just laughs it off.

Team 3: Bradley & Ashley

Phil (VO): Bradley, 24, and Ashley, 21, - newlyweds that has a relationship problem one after another.

Bradley (IV): Hi. I�m Bradley.

Ashley (IV): And I�m Ashley.

Bradley (IV): Ever since we married each other three months ago, our relationship has not been smooth at all.

Ashley (IV): Once one relationship problem has been settled, another problem will surface.

Bradley (IV): This has been going on continuously for over three months already.

Ashley (IV): And since there has been too much problems, we lost count of them.

Bradley (IV): We also have not had our honeymoon ever since our marriage, so, by joining The Amazing Race Singapore, we will fulfil our honeymoon wishes and hope that it will stop our relationship problems.

Team 4: Brandon & Hua Rong

Phil (VO): Brandon, 32, and Hua Rong, 29, - the race�s first ever low-income couple.

Hua Rong (IV): Hello everyone. I�m Hua Rong.

Brandon (IV): And this is Brandon.

Brandon and Hua Rong (IV): And we are both married.

Hua Rong (IV): Both of us were born from a poor family and I am my parent�s only daughter.

Brandon (IV): And I�m my parent�s only son. Both of our parents can�t afford to give birth to another child.

Hua Rong (IV): Both of us then drop out of school when we are primary four because our parent�s couldn�t afford to pay for the rising school fees during that time.

Brandon (IV): Both of us couldn�t get any temporary jobs due to our poor education results, let alone permanent jobs. But luckily, our neighbours and the Residents� Committee help us by donating money and basic necessities to us. We are very grateful to them.

Hua Rong (IV): In our whole life, we have never been overseas. By joining this race, we hope that we could have a chance to travel overseas.

Brandon (IV): We both don�t care on how much we have won but we are already very happy that we have a chance to join this race.

Team 5: Mei Huang & Hilary

Phil (VO): Mei Huang, 34, and Hilary, 15, - mother and Daughter with a very close relationship.

Mei Huang (IV): Hi. I�m Mei Huang. And this is my daughter, Hilary.

Hilary (IV): Hello. And she�s my mom. And we have a very close relationship.

Mei Huang (IV): Of course. It�s like we are both friends.

Hilary (IV): Very true. In fact, she is the most high-tech mother I�ve ever seen! Despite her age, she plays more online games than me. She even owned me in most of the games I played.

Mei Huang (IV): You�ve flattered me.

Hilary (IV): By joining this race, we hope that we have an even closer relationship.

Team 6: Nerrisa & James

Phil (VO): Nerrisa, 14, and James, 14, - good friends since primary six.

James (IV): Hello everybody. I am James.

Nerrisa (IV): Hi. I am Nerrisa, and we are good friends even since we both first met in church when we are primary six.

James (IV): Yup.

Nerissa (IV): James is really a very friendly and socializes well; whether a person is an ordinary people like us or a gangster, he just interacts with everyone.

James (IV): Recently, there have been a lot of rumours going around in our church that we go to and our respective secondary school that we both have fallen in love to each other.

Nerissa (IV): Of course. And these rumours are false.

James (IV): That�s right. We both have no feelings for each other.

Nerrisa (IV): Both James and I are actually quite adventurous.

James (IV): Yup. From sport climbing to recreational diving, we are always very daring to try out any adventurous activities. So, in this race, both of us will dare to do anything, including eating challenges.

Nerrisa (IV): Of course. And we both like to travel overseas to experience the different cultures of the world.

James (IV): Yup. But at least one of our parents must come along on any overseas vacation as they worry that something might goes wrong during the vacation.

Nerrisa (IV): And we wouldn�t dare do it! We�re underage. It�s against the law.

Team 7: Shanice & Jasmine

Phil (VO): Shanice, 18, and Jasmine, 15, - sisters that will flirt throughout the whole race just to win the grand prize.

Shanice (IV): Hi. I�m Shanice.

Jasmine (IV): And I�m Jasmine.

Shanice and Jasmine (IV): And we are the Flirty Sisters.

Jasmine (IV): Shanice and I always like to dress as if we�re out on a date.

Shanice (IV): Ya. And we will always be at least attracted to a teenage male per day.

Jasmine (IV): Of course. And on rare occasions, a few of these males tried to molest either one of us.

Shanice (IV): But luckily, we learned Taekwondo, so we managed pinned the molesters down before they can have their chance to molest us.

Jasmine (IV): In this race, both of us will flirt our way through the race just to be first.

Shanice (IV): Ya. With our excellent skills in flirting, we sure have no problems.

They both then laughed.

Jasmine (IV): But actually, we both joined the race because of its exciting race layout. With a Detour here, a Roadblock there, some Fast Forwards and Yields added, the race is like an obstacle course, just longer and larger.

Shanice (IV): Ya. And since we�re a huge fan of The Amazing Race and got accepted to race in the Singapore version, we got very excited.

Jasmine (IV): And who knows? Maybe we�ll be the second all-female team to win in The Amazing Race history.

Team 8: Jason & Stefani

Phil (VO): Jason, 14, and Stefani, 14, - best friends since childhood.

Jason (IV): Hello. I�m Jason.

Stefani (IV): And I�m Stefani.

Jason (IV): And we are best friends since both of us are ten years old.

Stefani (IV): Jason, although he is a little bit rude to his friends, is quite friendly and very socialising.

Jason (IV): And although Stefani is a little bit tough, she is actually kind and friendly towards people.

Stefani (IV): Since Jason is shorter than me, with his face and hair, he looks cute and cuddly like a teddy bear.

She then cuddles Jason for a while.

Jason (IV): She always does that whenever we met each other, and I got used to it.

Stefani (IV): Our reason for joining this race is not only to try to stay in the game as long as we can, but to know each other better.

Jason (IV): But not as in a romance relationship. As a friend, we have to understand one another better.

Team 9: Angelica & Timothy

Phil (VO): Angelica, 13, and TQ, 14, - currently dating teenagers.

Angelica (IV): Hi. I�m Angelica.

TQ (IV): And I�m Timothy. But people usually call me TQ.

Angelica (IV): We both first met when I was eleven years old.

TQ (IV): And when I was twelve years old. We both loved each other by first sight.

Angelica (IV): Ya. So you may say it as infatuation love. But still, we both do sincerely love each other.

TQ (IV): But it�s just that we are too young to get married.

Angelica (IV): Of course. We both do share the same interest and have known each other very well since we first met.

TQ (IV): So by joining this race, we hope that our bonds will get closer and our love relationship will, hopefully, not be broken by any obstacles.

Team 10: Stanley & Johnson

Phil (VO): Stanley, 25, and Johnson, 17, - secondary school teacher and once secondary school student.

Stanley (IV): Hello. I�m Stanley.

Johnson (IV): And I�m Johnson.

Stanley (IV): And we are the first teacher and student team in the whole The Amazing Race franchise.

Johnson (IV): Both Stanley and me have been a huge fan of The Amazing Race.

Stanley (IV): Ya. And we have been wishing to join The Amazing Race Asia. But we prefer The Amazing Race Singapore because of the low age requirement and this gave me the chance of joining the race is even higher.

Johnson (IV): A lot of people, especially my friends and his friends too, have been saying that our student � teacher teams will not even get a chance to race in The Amazing Race Singapore.

Stanley (IV): However, we shut them up when we managed to join the race.

Team 11: Kenny & Cynthia

Phil (VO): Kenny, 14, and Cynthia, 14, - best friends since 2007.

Kenny (IV): Hi. I�m Kenny.

Cynthia (IV): And I�m Cynthia.

Kenny (IV): Cynthia and I first met each other at a carnival and ever since then, we kept on contacting each other as friends.

Cynthia (IV): Let me emphasize that, FRIENDS only.

Kenny (IV): Yes, friends only. We always hate it when our friends always said that we both have a romance relationship.

Cynthia (IV): It is really sure a headache to always hear that.

Kenny (IV): Of course. Also, I admit that she wouldn�t accept someone as her boyfriend that is slightly fatter than her.

Cynthia (IV): He�s right. But I�ll only accept such person as my boyfriend if I like him. Kenny can�t be my boyfriend; he wasn�t up to my expectation.

Kenny (IV): Her expectations are actually quite high. If any boy who can reach or exceed her expectations, he is considered very lucky.

Cynthia (IV): Of course. Okay. Now, let�s go back to the race. The reason why we both join in The Amazing Race Singapore is because that we both are a fan of The Amazing Race.

Kenny (IV): Yup. Both of us have examine all of the seasons of The Amazing Race and The Amazing Race Asia to familiarise ourselves to the race formats and the possible trick the other racers may do.

Cynthia (IV): So, in other words, both of us are very well-prepared for the race.

Team 12: Makoto & Felicia

Phil (VO): And finally Makoto, 15, and Felicia, 14, - best friends since primary five.

Makoto (IV): Hello everyone. I�m Makoto.

Felicia (IV): And I�m Felicia.

Makoto (IV): We both friends when we first met each other in my school carnival.

Felicia (IV): Ya. He was helping out at his class� game stall and tries to get everyone he could see to try his class� game. He was the one who approach me to try out his class� game and so I try it out. He even taught me how to play the game.

Makoto (IV): Yup. After the game, we did an exchange of our phone numbers and remain in contact ever since.

Felicia (IV): We both even though of a possibility that we both may develop a romance relationship, considering of our very friendly manner that we both treated each other.

Makoto (IV): I also have to agree with her too. Look at her. Not only that she has a good figure and is very pretty and beautiful, she is also smart, strong, very daring and can is a fast runner. Who can�t resist her beauty and her charm?

Felicia (IV): As for him, although he looks small and skinny in appearance, he is very friendly, very funny and always cheerful, no matter how saddening a situation could be. However, he suffered from a lung problem 13 months ago and had to be hospitalized for about a week. It�s quite saddening to see a friend being hospitalized like that.

Makoto (IV): But that�s not the end. For the rest of 2007, due to my lung problem, I had to keep on checking in and out from the hospital almost every week for some lung checks to see if any other problems has arise. This caused me to miss some of my lessons which may pull me down from my examination results. I also cannot go for PE lessons for the whole year.

Felicia (IV): Fortunately for him, his problem had completely gone last month and we could join the race.

Makoto (IV): Joining the race is, to us, a reward for me for recovering from the lung problems I had.

Felicia (IV): Ya. This is very true.

Phil: Just like in the previous season of The Amazing Race Singapore, this season will be no different to everyone. They�ve seen how people play it, they�ve know the tricks people usually do. Some of the racers - Aran and Reuben; James; Jason; TQ; Kenny and Reuben; Makoto � are even from the same school and on the same education level. In addition to that, they are even friends, which makes a possible alliances amongst them. And since this season may be the final season of The Amazing Race Singapore, this season of the race will be the second season since Season 2 of The Amazing Race Singapore to travel beyond Singapore. In this season, the racers will be travelling to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Also, a lot of new twists and elements will appear and these new items may widen the check-in timing between each team and thus forcing the teams to play the game aggressively, making this season the most intense, challenging and the best season The Amazing Race Singapore had ever encountered. So the ultimate question is - which team will persevere throughout the whole race that is very physically and mentally demanding to date and who will win the one million Singapore dollars grand prize?
