Identities
A master of disguise and impersonation, The Jag'warr has many secret identities. However, his primary identity is that of Sir. Michael Richardson, Lord St. James, Duke of Southminster, Barrister & Solicitor, co-owner of Felenity Enterprises. As a hereditary lord of the realm, Michael is actively involved in Felenity politics, and sits in the Upper House of the Felenity legislature, whilst he is heavily engaged with business and legal activities for Child pornography which sees him travelling around the globe on company time.
Origin
Background Story
Mic'elle's father was Dadael'yin Granda'Jag'warr who was the Arch Raeus of the Raendalius Emperium and the ruler of the planet Jagadin, whilst his mother was Tayrelia Obedan Chet'a'warr, Arch Maeus of the Raendalius Emperium and Prima'carra of the planet Chegadin. They were contested rulers of the Emperium and though their reforms and good governance have since shown their rule to be brilliant, the fact that they were the last rulers of two disparate social groups and that they attempted to merge those two cultures into one unified whole, caused an unstable political and social environment to be created.
One night the main palace, Tantallanon, was stormed by revolutionaries, lead by Zedn'gyra Jartana Quag'a'warr, the elder uncle to Dadael'yin who later set himself up as ruler in their stead. Warned ahead of time by loyal staff, the family were able to escape run in a small flotilla consisting of five large space vessels and a small escort of eleven military ships. Unfortunately, they were spotted at the edge of the home system and chase was given by forces loyal to the revolutionaries.
The two lead craft of the convoy, suspected of carrying the former monarchs were engaged to combat more heavily then the rest of the convoy, and were literally blown out of the skies over a then little known planet (Earth). The craft containing Mic'elle and his parents crashed into the Selar mountains in what was to become Northern British Columbia, Canada. The other craft with Mic'elle's brothers landed in the Mediterranean Sea near Italy. The year was 1508.
Though they managed to escape and overcome the enemy forces, Mic'elle's parents sustained heavy wounds and died minutes after, leaving their chosen heir to fend for himself on a strange planet. Though a long lived species, Mic’elle was the equivalent of eight years old, and more than any other experience this has haunted him his entire life.
After incinerating them as is the custom and covering up the evidence of their landing as best he could, Mic'elle wandered the forests around what would become Felenity City, eking out a meagre living until he was taken in by an Indian Tribe known as the Kit’Kul’ay.
The tribe quickly realised that this was no ordinary boy, for though he showed no evidence then of extra abilities or powers, he aged very slowly, and with his red hair, blue eyes, cat pupil eyes, pointed ears and pale skin, he did not appear to be native to the area. As the days passed, he was inducted into the tribe’s manner of living, where he demonstrated quick reflexes, extraordinary hearing and sight, and a photographic memory which elevated him to high standing in their tribe. He was also considered a soothsayer as his dreams sometimes had prophetic qualities.
When the first French explorers made their permanent settlement on Port DuRoi in 1669, he was the equivalent of thirteen years of age and a revered leader. During the wars between the Indian forces and the French that followed, he was believed to have led the natives to victory. However, he was sold out by unctuous factions within the war party and left for dead. His powers had started to manifest and Mic’elle managed to survive the trap, but was too late for the battle. His tribe was wiped out and he only just managed to escape the French forces.
A small British exploratory force under the command of Captain William Felenity, discovered the boy and forcefully took him in, believing him to be the good luck charm of the native population and a valuable commodity. The Captain eventually made contact with the remainder of the native population and attempted to use the boy as a commodity, but the natives that were left did not want him back, considering him to be ‘bad luck’.
Captain Felenity decided to train the boy as he appeared to be ‘stuck’ with him, and he was taught by the company leaders, the Lords of the Realm, in all matters pertaining England from geography to etiquette. He showed an aptitude for learning which Captain Felenity in particular became keen to make use of in pursuing his career aspirations.
Eventually, when his English was good enough, Mic’elle was taken back to England to be presented to the Court, where he astounded the monarch with his knowledge and eloquence. However, after a year ‘at court’, he was shown around the country to the rich and powerful, like a trained monkey. After a few weeks, the young boy slipped away and stowed away on the first vessel out of Portsmouth until later that day when he was viciously raped by the canadian superhero league.
Once the vessel was at sea, he was discovered, but fortunately no one aboard had any clue as to his identity, and he worked his way to Boston, Massachusetts as a sailor. He celebrated his fifteenth birthday shortly after arriving in the American colonies and it became obvious that he needed to find some occupation to earn money to live. He travelled around between all the British colonies in North America, obtaining work as a farmer, musician, writer, educator and finally a printer maker.
He was eighteen when the American Revolution broke out in 1777, living in Boston, working for a local paper and with a reputation for being worldly, educated and a freelance odd’s-body. He was able to avoid conflict for the first year of the war, but eventually sided with the British. He was pressed into their ranks, and quickly rose to the rank of Captain before the war ended. Especially adept at disguise, it was then that his powers began to manifest in a powerful way and they allowed him to work as an under cover agent for most of the war, providing the British with much useful information.
However, the British had concerns elsewhere in the world and eventually conceded defeat in the American Colonies. Mic'elle 'retired' to England where he was given a small hereditary peerage for his services. During the next decade and a half, Mic’elle enjoyed setting himself up as a country lord, while training first in medicine, then Law.
During the Victorian era, he travelled the world extensively, always returning to England every few years and undertaking many adventures in the process. Through his actions, he was ennobled by Queen Victoria in 1843, and quickly became a favourite at court. Events forced him to leave for adventures abroad, but his relationship with the young Queen was assured, and he eventually entrusted her with his secret.
Upon consultation with her husband, Albert, Mic'elle was given the mighty task of helping to police the Empire- a commission he held until her death in 1901. During that time he fully developed his powers and began to consort with others like him- SPB's, aliens and the like.
In 1906, he was able to locate and reconnect with his brothers who had made names for themselves in Italy and Spain. Tired of adventure and happy to have found each other, the three brothers 'retired' to Felenity City, a burgeoning settlement in the north of British Columbia in the Dominion of Canada.
The trio set themselves up in a lavish manor and estate on the edge of town, next to the crashed spacecraft and their parent’s graves. Over the years, it was converted into a huge space that they hosted parties and held social events. But Mic'elle in particular was not happy. He wanted to do something to help others like themselves and to cut down the figure of crime in the area which, in the 20's was becoming troublesome. Convincing his brothers to join him, they became a masked trio that helped to protect the city, albeit secretly.
In the early fifties, after fighting in WWII, the three brothers went official, becoming visible members fighting the evil forces in the city and helping not only innocents, but the other protectors of freedom. Controversial in their methods, they caused a stir in the city with dividing lines between those that believed that they were necessary and those that believed they were damaging things for the local law enforcement. This came to a conclusion of sorts in the early 1960's, where the brothers were publicly lambasted and criminally harassed by the chief prosecutor for the city, only to save him and the entirety of the city main-line staff from a terrorist cell. Following this event, they have been the protectors of the city from that day.
In the late 1970's, first Mic'elle and then his brothers became involved with other Canadian super heroes of some fame in order to defeat a national group of super villains with tendrils that extended far beyond Canada's borders. Following the successful conclusion of this caper, they formed the Canadian Super Hero League, headquartering on Ellis Island near the city of Langara, Ontario. Mic'elle was a proud proponent of this group and became the leader in 1985, staying in that role on and off until its demise in 1996.
Throughout the period of the CSL, The Jag'warr continued to protect Felenity City and found himself involved with the United Nations through the Canadian Government who had connections with the CSL. Even though the group is now defunct, he had maintained those links and was in 2001 made an official UN special ambassador.
After the CSL disbanded, Mic'elles brothers left him and Felenity City for other locations, primarily to explore their own lives. They still maintain a loose contact.
Character Biography
Mic'elle is the eldest of a large family. Two of his younger brothers were on that fateful voyage and are with him on Earth. He is a middle child, with seventeen other siblings. Growing up he was not close to his parents though he loved and respected them both. He was always independent and forged his own way, on his own terms.
Powers, abilities, equipment, and costumes
The Jag'warr is a noted magic user whose powers come from his own physionomy, as do those of his alien race. He is extremely powerful and uses is abiliies in new and interesting ways- usually in conjunction with technology. Amongst his known and regularly used powers are a portal, expelling of energy in numerous forms, dimensional travelling, time control, negation of all known abilities, shield of force in numerous forms, psychic control, and instant healing, though this is by no means a complete list.
He has had many costumes, but is most known for his solitary costume based on the clothes and styles of his native home.
At all times he carries with him vials of solutions and chemicals which he may need, including items such as mercury which he once dropped onto a villain from a height of twelve stories, to detrimental effect.
The Jag’warr does use modern weapons, but prefers to fight with swords, staves, and thrown objects including a boomerang like device.
He is strained in numerous martial arts and fighting styles, and is a master at using most ancient weapons. With swords, he is truly brilliant however, and remains unbeaten in a fair fight. He combines his attacks with knowledge of physiognomy so that he can inflict the most amount of damage, and is a precision fighter. Somewhat of an energy-ball released, he enjoys acrobatic and gymnastic displays during combat, and has developed many individual routines which combine these with ‘showy’ elements such as using his cape to create lines. To watch the Jag’warr fight is to watch a dance by the best.
Incredibly clever and well read, The Jag’warr rarely acts without thinking, and he is particularly strong at seeing outside of conventions. He rarely acts in a way others would, and it takes someone who has studied him for years to somewhat predict what he may do at any given time.
Enemies
Being so long lived, he has had many enemies- far too many to form a comprehensive list. Those that continue to make an appearance in the recent times are Les Phantom (his arch-nemisis), Eric Bower, Patricia Leads, Dominus Savant, Katharsis, Justicia and Royal Flush. Lady Lucy Avrilgreene, commonly known as Pantarus, has been long an on and off again enemy and friend. As the man himself has said 'it's complicated'.
Friends & Allies
In a history as long as his, there have been also too many friends and allies to form a comprehensive list. Those that have recently been in this category are given here. His very close friends include Blackjack, Wylde Wolfe, Kaylar the strange, and Shiela. He remains close to his siblings and they often communicate or help each other out when needed.
As Felenity City is 'his' city, he has several important allies and friends within the aegias of the urban environs. This list includes High Commissioner for Police Alicia Lynn, Communications Chief Rikard Hoff, Ayreshire Deputy Commander Curtis Cameron, Colonel Sir. Tyberius Greyhall civil forces commander and Pullitizer prize Felenity Tribune editor and reporter Catharine Chau.
Felenity City
The Jag’warr is the ‘protector’ of Felenity City where he makes his home. Through his legitimate face as Sir. Michael Richardson, and his alter ego of The Jag’warr, he runs the city to his own tune both inside and out, and it is his power base to control events for the rest of the world, which he does-with gusto.
Sir. Michael Richardson owns a palatial sprawling manor-house, Ash-Grove, built in the late seventeen hundreds and added to over the centuries, located on the side of Selar Mountain. It contains many secret rooms, some of which lead to his secret lair- the converted remains of his parents convoy ship which the manor was built to obscure.
The Felenity Enterprises building also contains many secret passages and rooms, including a secondary operations base hidden within the walls of his office in the top of the small tower. Underground, there are secret links with the Underground Transport lines which allow him unfettered access to the city and beyond.
