History
Peri made her own page for "The Valentines" so I thought I'd make one for "The Windriders" that linked all the misc profiles together. In some worlds she is powerless, in others she has control of the winds, and others she has her father's abilities. One constant in every world is that Karan is beautiful.
Earth-82004: Windrider
This is the "original" Windrider of the guild. Her profile can be found here. This version of Karan is by far the most developed. She is the daughter of Sabretooth and as such is also a mutant. She developed her control over the wind when he first attacked her. She was recruited by the X-men shortly after. She almost immediately started a relationship with Warren Worthington, Archangel. But Karan discovered her best friend Maria had been murdered. While Karan first suspected her father, she found out (with the help of friend Trizen and half-sister Lily) that she had been killed by the Friends of Humanity. Much to her dismay, upon returning to the X-men Karan discovered that Warren had fallen for someone else: Psylocke. She left for a short time. After she cooled down, Karan returned and taught a new group of young mutants called the New Students. During this time she continued her relationship with Warren after Psylocke left the X-men. When he left the team for political reasons, she fell into a bit of a depression and started dating Mark Maxwell, even though the Professor forbade it. He felt it was a bad influence on both of them. After they both began failing at their jobs and educations, he sent Karan away to a smaller school in Bludhaven.
She rebelled, embarrassed, and started a life of thievery in Bludhaven. She even renamed herself "Darkrider". As Darkrider she clashed many times with Nightwing. As Karan, she started a tentative relationship with Dick Grayson. Dick's mentor Bruce Wayne was Karan's first sponsor in modeling. When Nightwing disappeared, she found she had no reason to stay in Bludhaven and moved back to the X-mansion. She stayed there only to train and started working with The Corporation on the side, to pay for her new apartment. After being sent on an assignment that she almost died from, Karan proved a useful witness against The Corporation during the trial of the superheroes. She then returned to the X-men.
The team was thrown into an alternate dimension where Onslaught devolved Karan into a feline creature he called "Kat". When she was returned to her true form, some of the features remained, including fangs and slightly catshaped pupils and nails tough as steel. She also gained her father's healing factor. During a costume party at the Hellfire Club, Karan came dressed as a vampire. When all attendants were transformed into their costumes, Karan found herself lusting for blood. She was torturing Jean Grey by drinking her blood. Just as she was overcoming her transformation, Mephisto showed up and kept her under the influence. Karan, as the vampire, killed Jean Grey.
Karan's career skyrocketed to celebrity status at this time. She stared as an extra in numerous movies and was on the cover of several magazines. Karan had fame, fortune, abilities she loves, an adoptive family, and she was happy. But still she didn't feel completely accepted by the X-men and students, and hadn't had a love life in years.
When Deadpool randomly delivered a bag full of stolen weapons and magical gear, Karan jumped at the chance to try the items out. She settled on a beautiful Egyptian amulet. When she put it on, she was overcome with the urge to cry "Oh Mighty Isis!" and was transformed into the ancient goddess Isis. Isis and Karan realized that their spirits were tied together when Celeste placed their minds in Charles Xavier's mind to help him recover his memories; the two were literally shackled together on a psychic level. Karan then decided that she needed a personality change; instead of taking a psychotic medication, Isis suggested she meld their personalities a bit. Since then, Karan has become calmer and kinder.
Earth-313: Sabretooth II
Karan has fully embraced the abilities she received from her father. Although Victor Creed was a pacifist teacher at the School for Hanashashin, Karan rejected his beliefs and struck out on her own as a mercenary.
Earth-X23: Kat
This is a world where the X-men lost on their mission to Onslaught's dimension. Onslaught devolved Karan into a feline creature he called "Kat". Her powers grew into the same set her father had. She no longer had the mental faculties to access her wind powers. Instead, she chose to learn about her new powers and fight to earn Onslaught's favor. Perhaps he'll then return her back to normal.
His devolution caused Karan's features to become more masculine. She let her hair grow wildly and her muscles develop. Although most would still find her attractive, Karan hates her appearance and doesn't even own a mirror in her small cell. She avoids them at all costs. Kat and X-23 were two of Kal-El's top assassins. When X-23 escaped the world, Kat secretly defected and now spies for the resistance.
This Karan's full profile can be found here.
Earth-295: Windrider
Windrider was a supermodel and floundering student who couldn't find her place until a spell was cast on her that transformed her into a child. Her eyes were opened when she realized she could relive her most important developmental years. She trained harder, studied better, learned more. Became ruthless and unerring in her skills as a secret assassin. Her public front is that of a teacher, a trainer, to the newer mutants. To help them save themselves before Apocalypse takes them away.
Windrider (known only by her codename in this world) was approached by Superman after his wife Lois was killed in The Culling. She had already been working for him as a teacher, but he asked her to join a secondary team: The League of Mercenaries. Karan was hesitant to join because of Warren's beliefs on killing, but her moral code had been rewritten when her mentor (Professor Xavier) disappeared, abandoning his team and students during the greatest holocaust the world had ever seen. Karan was welcomed to the secondary team with open arms by her old friend Ghost and old flame Deadpool. Although the rest of the world was going through hell, she had everything she had ever wanted: Family, friends, lovers, and a job that she greatly enjoyed.
This Karan's full profile can by found here.
Earth-473: Jack the Ripper?
Karan has been a human servant, a familiar, to Isis since she was born. Her parents offered her to Isis in exchange for their lives, but Isis killed them anyway. Isis decided not to infect Karan because she was intrigued by her abilities and natural beauty.
She did however take control of Karan's mind. She gave Karan the ability to see the demons among us as they really are -- and the responsibility to destroy them. Karan suffers unimaginable pain until she kills her target. However, after she kills the "demons" she sees them as other humans might, in their mortal forms. This has always plagued her conscious, but Isis doesn't allow her to think about it for very long before sending her on another mission.
This Karan's full profile can by found here.
Earth-1008: Isis
Windrider was part of the team of X-men that utilized Forge's final invention. She and Isis became one mind and have full access to Isis's goddess abilities without the limitation of the amulet or a human form.
Earth-33: Karan Stark
In Pleasentville, Karan is a happy homemaker, married to billionaire industrialist Tony Stark. They do NOT have a happy marriage. She is his beautiful trophy wife who tries to please her husband with a new dessert, pot roast recipe, or piece of lingerie every day. He in return is an angry drunk that spends too much time at the office. Karan is desperately seeking an escape.
Earth-1007: Carl Creed
Carl is a detective with deceptively good looks. He is often mistaken for a woman.
Earth-11447: Ka'e
Ka'e is one of the Na'vi on planet Pandora. The Na'vi are a race of sentient extraterrestrial humanoids who inhabit the lush jungle moon of Pandora. Humans are known to refer to them as "Blues," "Savages," "the locals" or "the natives." The indigenous Na'vi are, on average, three meters tall with smooth cyan-colored skin, large eyes, and sweeping tails. They are the only known extraterrestrial species discovered to have human-like consciousness and intelligence. They have developed a sophisticated culture based on a profound spiritual connection to other life on their moon, each other, and an encompassing "spirit" they call Eywa. Each Na’vi is born with four fingers on each hand and four toes on each foot, unlike the Avatars of the Humans who have five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot because of the fusion of DNA. The Na'vi seem to have a different evolutionary ancestor to other creatures that share two pairs of eyes and three pairs of arms-legs-or-wings, but they have a Queue which indicates the ability to make a bond with the environment.
The Na'vi are monogamous creatures who mate for life. Ka'e's mate died early in her life and she hasn't mated again. Right after her mate's death she spent quite a bit of time at the Tree of Souls but received a sign that she shouldn't waste her life grieving.
