UC: switching races efficiently

Decide

Take a lot of time before doing a decision; it takes rather long to switch again if not happy with your choice.

Don't base your choice on income alone, consider the ship quality and things you won't have anymore.

The basics

-You keep your artifacts, so dig yourself some goodies first since your Orion system won't be accessible right away or at all with the new race.

-Fuse all your spare artifacts into something useful.

-You keep 20% of your $ and food, so sell all your minerals and stock up everything as food or $

-You keep your ministers, so you can spend lots of money on the minister you will need with the next race before a switch rather than lose 80% of that money.

-Make sure you have at least 5 billion, the 1 billion after the switch will help do the missions quickly. More if you want truly meteoric rise in planets thru exploring and upgrading systems as soon as possible.

-You don't keep your systems or your ships, so you might want to attack enemies until you run out of ships so your friends can grab a few planets from them and from you.

-Remember you'll still be with the same lord!

-Read the missions of your next race and be ready to do them quickly.

-Remember you keep your infrastructure levels, but some may be unavailable until you do a few missions (mining for collective comes to mind).

Switch to aspha miner

Before the switch research and use the I-node project (you get it again by researching the i-node lab); give yourself at least 5 levels of housing and 25 levels of mining so you don't have to research those levels for 10 hours if your total infrastructure level is high
