- start every line with a star
- more stars means deeper levels
- start every line with a star
- Start numbered lists with a hash
- more hashes means deeper levels
- and each hash is a new number
Ordinary text starts at the left margin
- colons indent
- more colons indent more deeply

- Link to another page within BluWiki with a double pair of brackets. If you type a pipe, the alternate text will be displayed, but the link will go to the same place.
- Note that the standard way to create a new wiki page is simply to edit an existing page and add a link to the new page. When you click on the new link, you will go directly to an edit box for the new page.
- External links work a bit differently. Enclose the full URL in a single pair of brackets. If you type a space, alternate text will be shown; otherwise, the link appears only as a reference number.
- A colon inside the markup gives you a link, not the image itself.
- Make thumbnails with the magic word thumb and specify width. Text after the last pipe will display as a caption.

- If there's a page named Template:Foo, then the markup Template:Foo (a pair of double braces) will be rendered as the entire contents of the template page.
- {{foo}} creates a clickable link to the template page instead.
- Some templates take parameters, separated by pipes. See the documentation on each template's Talk page for more information about usage and parameters.
