Interrealm (also known by its full name The Agency of Interdimensional Defense, Exploration and Intelligence/A.I.D.E.I.) is the name of the official Solerran agency designed with the task of protecting the interests of the Solterran Alliance and the Prime Universe; Maintaining law and order in the policing of jump-based ability both magical and technological.

History
Project Leapfrog
Dr. Hans Schumacher will soon will be known as the "Father of Interdimensional Travel" when he first conducted his first experiments on Quantum Tunneling to see and know about the existence of parallel universes according to the latest laws. It has taken billions of dollars and seven years of research to develop the first device to which to send matter into a alternate plain of reality.
Project: Leapfrog was the name of such an experiment when the first inanimate object a simple observation was successfully sent to and from a point in an alternate Earth where it has been revealed that humanity has been degraded into a hierarchy where the many work so hard for the elite few. It was dubbed AEarth later known in the Great Wide Universe.
Schumacher himself became the first living subject to be sent into another dimension but a malfunction has damaged the machine after Schumacher made it to his destination. All data on where he went was lost and the project was closed down permanantly.
The Vela Missions
Years later, The Vela Organization has taken the original plans and improve on them knowing that their expansion into the exploration of those parallel universes would be managable. In their research they have developed the modern Quantum Launchpad. The differance between the Schumacher machine and the Launchpad is their creation of the Marquis Superlens; a special device that makes it possible for anything to be sent to worlds other than the alternate of the destination.
In collaboration with the Global Space League they have developed Great Gemini One the very first spacecraft that can travel and explore these universes. The results of the expedition that came after proved enough that interdimensional travel can be possible.
The Destruction of Chicago
For over seven years the use of Interdimensional travel into other worlds has been a godsend for adventurers, Tradesmen who have experience who deal with alien worlds and soon future colonists who might find home in another world other than their own universe. But that soon came to a harsh halt when two extradimensional beings arrived on Prime Earth who were destroying all without reason.
None of the powerful forces of Solterra were enough to even make a scratch and before leaving they combined their powers in order to destroy the city of Chicago in its entirety. All that remains is a massive crater where Lake Michigan filled in in a matter of years.
World Congress Responds
The idea of the two beings who arrived on Prime Earth with mindless agression shouldn't jeprodize the future of the still new technology. A small committee of elected officials have decided to develop a new law that would patrol and monitor the use of this technology and with the acknowledgement of magic so will jumps through realms by means of magic.
The new act will be known as the Interdimensional Securities Act or IDSA. One of the acts' provisions call for the development of a new agency that will accomplish these tasks. That will soon create Interrealm.
