General Description
Standing at 7 feet with violet eyes Varrus is one of the tallest and probably one of the most handsome Centurion in all of Domus.
Character Development
Book I: Qul Tos
Varrus is mentioned as a possible mentor for Jason to Philip by the head of the famed Academy, Oktor.
Book II: Domus
Having formerly served in the Western Centurion Army, 28 years old Varrus was made Staff Master at the Academy in order to remove the distraction he's looks and charm were causing within the legions. When war breaks out between Domus and the Federation Varrus is given the task of teaching the quarterstaff to the Legatio students at the school. Out of all the Legatio only Jason Argot succeeds in impressing him. Varrus is so taken by the hard working Legatio that he asks Jason's guardian, Philip, to be his mentor. After making love to each other Philip agrees. According to Centurion customs no true Centurion warrior may sleep with an uncircumcised man. Even though Jason is still months away from the day when he can take part in the circumcision ceremony neither man is able to hold back their growing passions for one another and eventually make love. When they are caught Varrus is stripped of his tattoos that mark him as a Centurion and is exiled from the Empire. Before leaving Varrus tells Erik that he will wait for Jason in Qul Tos where he knows his student must one day return to serve as king.
