World War II was a global conflict fought from 1939-1941. It ended with Axis victory. This article only covers the Fall of France and after. The large amount before that is exactly the same as it was historically.

Dunkirk and Laon

By May 26th, 1940, German armor had destroyed Belgian and Dutch defences and had broken through the French lines on the Dyle. The BEF was trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk and Adolf Hitler wanted to stop so his troops could be reinforced. However, he heeded his General staff's idea and attacked the retreating BEF. Large amounts surrendered and despite a French attempt to rescue the BEF, It was destroyed over the next 2 Days. Defeatism was already growing in Britain and this sent it forward a huge amount. Charles De Gaulle ordered his division to advance and force the Germans to turn but, at Laon, His division was surrounded and destroyed.

The Somme

The Germans, meanwhile had turned south and chased the battered French across the River Somme. Juin ordered his men to make a stand but his army was destroyed and he was killed in the battle.
