Zephiron Lethos

From BluWiki

(6 FS - ) The younger brother of Andiron Lethos and uncle of Oleron Lethos, Zephiron never held the favor of the Regai family in the same way his brother did. Though gifted with a fluidity of speech, he wandered the realms of Altair as an adventurer, acquiring great skill in the tempest style of fighting. This talent came naturally to him as well, as he felt a strange kinship with the wind and water. Over the course of his travels he obtained the sword and dagger Boreas and Zephyros, his greatest treasures.

In 72 FS, as he was returning from one of his journeys, Zephiron was met by an excited and furious Andiron. His brother, long suspicious that their stock was not of the elves, had found evidence of this very treachery in House Regai's royal records. Though his reaction was not so extreme, Zephiron took this knowledge to heart, ruminating on its implications. In the 120s FS, he joined Andiron as co-founder of the Society of Eladrin, a debate group dedicated to the discussion of their true heritage. By the early 130s FS, however, the group had become the Eladrin Liberation Front, a radical organization dedicated to the establishment of an independent eladrin state, and Zephiron's curiosity had bloomed into passion, measured by his ever-present patience. Though he resented the elven secrecy on his heritage, he wielded Boreas and Zephyros against the Fire Legion in 134 FS, narrowly escaping the city.

He took up the mantle of leadership alongside his brother in Taraneen, the floating refuge city they created for their people in Fenwood. When the Fire Legion was defeated at Rivermeet in 136 FS, Andiron represented the eladrin at the summit for the Treaty of Altair, but his pleas for a separate eladrin state fell on deaf ears. This news drove Andiron further in his militant passion, but Zephiron was hesitant to make any drastic move. In 137 and 138 FS, Oleron was the primary source of news of the outside world in Taraneen, and one day he brought an exiled Eladrin named Taleris to the village.

Though Zephiron was wary of the newcomer, he could not help but hope that his promises were true, that his people really could return to their ancestral home in Faerie. He agreed to lend his blades on an expedition with Oleron and Andiron to retrieve a magical gem for Taleris. The stranger claimed it was the key to their return, and after retrieving it, Oleron and his fellows joined him on a voyage to the Wilds. The news he bore upon his return, however, was disturbing.

Zephiron was oddly unsurprised to hear that he and his kin were mostly elven, bearing a trace of the true Eladrin blood that granted them their arcane powers. Likewise, his suspicions were confirmed when he heard that Taleris was exiled because he was the leader of a renegade sect, the Malari, dedicated to bringing death to Faerie in some attempt at creating balance. When Oleron inevitably entreated his brethren to join his new master, and when Andiron inevitably answered his call, Zephiron was forced finally, inevitably, to break with his beloved brother. He and the eladrin loyal to him left Taraneen to seek a home among their new old brothers, the elves.

At the Battle of the Wilderness, he led an eladrin battallion which fought bravely despite taking heavy losses from Malcolm's forces.
